I have been making HOTTIES for about three years now. It all started quite organically, being an artist living in Montreal and searching for a way to make a living with my handy work.

Having long been addicted to hot water bottles, I decided I would have a go at making my own line of hot water bottle cozies. Looking in my fabric stash, I found a beautiful piece of fleece that I knew right away would make the perfect hot water bottle cover. After a rather lengthy design and sketch process, I was ready to get sewing. I spent a few days producing my first small collection of HOTTIES for an upcoming craft sale.

I still remember sitting with my HOTTIES at my craft table, nervous and intimidated by all the amazing products around me. A day later, I was elated to see I had sold them all! From that point on, I kept making and designing more HOTTIES, trying different fabrics and slight design tweaks. To this day, I continue to be a one-woman show, doing everything from ordering and design, to working in the woodshop building a booth for upcoming shows (oh yeah, I managed to squeeze in a cabinetmaking diploma last year, too!).

I feel super lucky to get to work creatively each and everyday. It is such a good feeling to see and hear how much people love their HOTTIES. Oh, and it is also amazing to meet all you closet HOTTIE fanatics out there, and know that I’m not the only one!
